Hello Everyone 大家好
I am Joe Ong

I began my Feng Shui Studies more than a decade ago, after a tour of the Ming Tomb, Temple of Heaven, and Forbidden City in China. I was impressed by these monuments because we did not have any architecture of their age in Singapore and most older buildings here look and feel quite modern with our regular maintenance and constant upgrades. The Forbidden City’s entrance alignment to the North-South Central Axis (Zi Wu Xian), among other observations which were explained as Feng Shui design caught my interest to find out more. It was not just out of curiosity but a sense of excitement in discovering a prowess, because Feng Shui must be extraordinary to be able to have an influence over such important monuments.

Before this tour of China, I believed geomancy, fortune-telling were just folklore and superstition. However, it occurred to me then that there could be some truth in Feng Shui, given that it has existed for thousands of years and used by supreme rulers of their time. It also occurred to me superstition can also mean taking common beliefs as facts, and we take it for granted it is superstition because others said so without ourselves finding out more. From then onwards, Chinese Metaphysics became my passion because I wanted to find out more.

I have learnt and practised not just Feng Shui but also methods on destiny analysis and divination with many great masters in Asia. Through these experiences over the past decade, I find that Chinese Metaphysics is not just an art, philosophy, or culture, but also has an element of science. I summarise it as a study of cosmic energy and its effect on Time (Heaven), Space (Earth) and Us (Human).

It is a waste that these wisdom and knowledge left for us by our predecessors receive so much skepticism even among ourselves. Many people shun it because they perceive it as lacking practicality and consider it irrelevant or obsolete in modern times. Some associate it with religion, the occult, or as dealing with abstract and complex ideas. In the Articles section of ONG FENG SHUI, I try to present my interpretation of Chinese Metaphysics in the simplest form and establish connections with modern-day concepts. My hope is that through better understanding, more people will become interested, learn and apply them in their daily lives. With greater interest and increased utilisation, the knowledge will enhance and advance and one day Destiny Analysis, FENG SHUI, and even Divinations will receive the same recognition as Chinese Medicine.

I founded ONG FENG SHUI with these Vision, Mission, and set of Core Values:

‘ONG’ comes from my surname and means prosperity in Hokkien slang. ‘WANG’ in the naming dictionary signifies connection between Heaven, Earth, and Man. I include ‘FENG SHUI’ in our name because it’s a metaphysic term familiar to many.
